WHO WE ARE
We are ordinary people who appreciate the food our land provides; who want to contribute; to take care of our land which in turn will nurture and take care of us. We wish to share with people how to live in abundance despite food insecurity. We have more than enough if we know where and HOW to look at the gifts around us.
We desire to ensure that we have enough food for today, tomorrow and for future generations by sharing knowledge, experience, processes, and the communal benefits of reducing food waste and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

OUR SERVICES
We don’t claim to have answers to food insecurity. TN2E provides tips, pointers, practises which people can easily adopt to help reduce waste. One practise we all can adopt is to look in your fridge and pantry before going grocery shopping to avoid buying existing items.
Our goal is for all of us to be in control of the foods we eat, buy, grow, make. We are in this together. The more we know about our relationship with the land, the food we grow, the animals we eat, the more we can create abundance for ourselves today and for tomorrow.
Our food producers sustain us. By visiting their farms, celebrating with them at harvest time, helping them plant their foods when help is needed, we are honouring them. Developing strong ties with our farmers is another step in achieving abundance for all.

OUR PASSION
We are living in a time when the relationship between humans and food in developed countries has changed. Many people no longer know the source of their food; for many, food comes from the supermarket.
Many don’t know how to cook; in some parts of the country, apartments are being built without kitchens.
While there are hundreds of cooking shows, less and less people know how or are encouraged to cook. Rather than cooking one’s own food, media viewers are tempted to order in prepared meals.
We crave to change the chore of cooking by experimenting with its delights and failures with easy ways of using ingredients at our disposal in our pantries, fridges, in cupboards or hiding in plain sight.
The food industry is responsible for roughly 26% of the world’s Greenhouse Gases (GHG) which equates to about 13 billion tonnes a year of food. This means that 50% of all produced foods ends up as waste.
By changing the way we relate to food, we can encourage practices to reduce food waste thereby supporting a thriving healthy planet where greenhouse gases are minimized and more natural ways of growing are practiced.

SUSTAINING ABUNDANCE
Canada was built on pioneers turning vast tracts of wild or semi-arid native prairie, forests, and brushland into productive agricultural land, particularly across the Canadian Prairies and regional frontiers. Settlers and developers converted millions of acres of natural grassland ecosystems into major crop-producing regions for wheat and other grains through large-scale clearing and mechanized farming.
Knowing about our large Canadian agricultural tradition is only part of the story and only part of the solution to food security.
What we can do
In cities like London Ontario, community gardens are springing up everywhere with people like Rob McQueen of Forage City (London, Ontario). He started by approaching churches and other organizations that had lots of green grass space and an interest in/commitment to food security and feeding people.
As soon as he got one YES, that’s where he started, and the urban community garden network grew from there. His Facebook page is a hub of information exchange where people learn from each other how to create vegetable gardens from small plots of land.
Knowing how to reduce waste, using foods available in our community, buying food products in season locally are more ways we can contribute to helping the planet thrive.
Inspired by films like TOGETHER WE GROW people are turning land from nothing into gardens of edible foods. Link for film TOGETHER WE GROW:

We need to sustain a rich, vibrant, healthy planet that thrives with our nurturing, loving relationship which reflects our interconnectedness and gives life and meaning to all of us. TN2E is to encourage all of us to work with the space, land, resources we have in order to use them for our own benefit through tips, techniques, practises and information that is readily available.
We have the know-how. We need the political, social and financial will to sustain a healthy vibrant world for us and for those who follow us.
